Any successful acquisition is based on finding synergies, ways to combine forces that leave the resulting company in a stronger position. When Qonto acquired Regate in early 2024, the goal was to provide an improved fintech solution for both accounting firms and SMBs, which given their pan-European scope, means aiming to reach over 1 million customers

1 million is a big number – especially if you’re Lova Andria, who manages scrapping and enrichment at Regate by Qonto. Lova’s job is to find, structure and supply the data that their SDRs need to effectively convert new customers. And just because he knows that data is out there – somewhere – on the internet, that doesn’t mean it’s easy to find.

Indeed, data engineers everywhere know that with the oceans of information available, the job of separating signal from noise is only getting more critical and more difficult. In the quest to do that job – from finding data to enriching it and sending it where it needs to go – it’s easy to become overwhelmed by all of the available tools, each offering to help with a specific part of the processes behind finding, enriching, and managing data.

That’s the situation Lova found himself in earlier this year.

“I had all these tools, from Sales Navigator to email finders to Google Maps to company registries to… a lot of other stuff! But I was wasting so much time trying to pull all of the data into one place. And then, even when I’d get the final results, my SDRs were finding that the accuracy wasn’t all that good.”

That’s when Lova came across Captain Data, and was quickly pulled in by the opportunity to structure his data searches using platform thinking. Rather than dealing with each data tool on its own, Captain Data lets him bring all of his data enrichment activities into one place.

“I still use LinkedIn for people and job data, Kaspr and lemlist for contact information, Google for locations, Hubspot as our CRM… It’s just that all those activities are centralized on Captain Data, so I don’t waste time trying to combine them.”

Having the Captain Data platform up and running also gives him another benefit: creating automations that can automatically combine data sources, giving enriched results and pushing them into the hands of Regate by Qonto’s SDRs. Learning how to build effective automations on Captain Data took a little bit of experimenting, but Lova says it was well worth the effort.

“I had to understand the platform better, so I started with a few small automations. That helped to see what worked and where I was missing things, and within a few weeks I was feeling pretty comfortable. Now, I can create automations that start at point A and run through multiple steps to get the data I need, in the format I need. And once it’s done, it runs automatically whenever I want.”

With the final output always being actionable leads placed in the hands of their SDRs, the two-person growth team is enjoying the results. Lova has gone from supplying an average of 400-500 leads per month to easily hitting 800-900, with the added benefit of producing higher quality data in less time. 

“I’m saving 80% of the time I used to spend on data gathering, since Captain Data does so much of the tedious data work for me. Now I can verify the pertinence of the information, make sure everything’s structured in our CRM, and use the rest of my time to find new ways to reach our targets.”
